Incorporating Pantone’s New Color of the Year into Your Events
For those of you who don’t know, Pantone chooses a color each year as the Pantone Color of the Year. Ok, so what’s so great about that? The color experts pick each year’s color by looking at influences and trends in many different worlds including entertainment, design, fashion, and even socio-economic conditions! The color that has been chosen for 2022 is Very Peri (PANTONE 17-3938).

If you haven’t already noticed, purple is the color of Planit Events Inc. Why did I choose purple? Well aside from it being my favorite color, purple combines the calm stability of blue and the fierce energy of red. The color purple is often associated with royalty, nobility, luxury, power, and ambition. Purple also represents meanings of wealth, extravagance, creativity, wisdom, dignity, grandeur, devotion, peace, pride, mystery, independence, and magic.
Very Peri (PANTONE 17-3938)
Let’s talk about what this year’s color signifies, and then I’ll give you a little insight into how you can use this year’s color in your upcoming events. Very Peri signifies confidence, creativity, and places a new light on the future. Although the two years have been uncertain with the pandemic (I know, I know, I’m sorry for mentioning the P-word), PANTONE 17-3839 symbolizes the transition as we take on our changing world. As stated by Pantone, “Very Peri illustrates the fusion of modern life and how color trends in the digital world are being manifested in the physical world and vice versa.” Did you know that this is the first year in the history of Pantone’s Color of the year, where a completely new color was developed? I think that is a pretty great reflection of the coming times. It reflects innovation and creative change, which is what we have all been learning to do in such different times. Take a quick example of the events world; we were so used to having in-person events that when they were shut down, event planners around the world turned to innovation and technology. Here we are 2 years later absolutely killing the virtual and hybrid event game!
Incorporating Very Peri into Your Events
As I mentioned earlier, color signifies more than just a look. There is passion and meaning behind each color and this is important to remember going into your new year of events. What do you want your event to signify? I think many of the events we are going to plan or host this year are going to focus on the idea of innovating in new times and transforming the way we go about life! So how exactly do you fit Very Peri in your upcoming events?
Digital Event Graphics
Even if your event is not virtual, digital graphic elements play a key role in your event whether it’s a team-building event or a trade show. So what kind of digital graphics am I talking about? Digital graphics include, and are not limited to:
- Advertisements
- Social media posts
- Digital brochures
- Infographics
- Digital invites
- Email imagery
- Slideshows
- Logos
- And much more!
Going into this year, your events may be happening in-person, online, or may even take on a hybrid model. Either way, there are lots of ways to incorporate digital graphics even if your event is in person. Looking for some inspiration or ideas? Contact Planit Events Inc. to learn more!
Event Décor
I could write and chat about event décor for days and days, but I’ll keep it short and sweet here. Regardless of what type of event you are hosting, anything from a birthday party to a large trade show, the décor is a must! So how can you incorporate the color of the year into your event décor? It can be a subtle integration or perhaps your whole décor theme revolves around Very Peri, it’s completely up to you. It’s best to build a color palette (see some ideas below), or you can use Color Hunt’s website to help you design your own.
Here are a few ideas for subtly adding Very Peri to your upcoming event:
- Table cards
- Backdrops
- Napkins
If you need help with your décor, I would be more than happy to provide some assistance, or you can check out my latest product that launched in 2020, Décor Crate!
